Denim is one of those fabulous fabrics that we Canadians love to wear year round (Canadian tuxedo anyone??) and this spring is no exception. We thought we’d break down the various ways you can incorporate denim or chambray into your wardrobe picks for the season while keeping in line with the over-arching trends.
1. The Boyfriend Jean
This style of jean has always varied over the years but again – we are definitely straying from the skinny jean for all you trend lovers out there. This pair from the Gap look great paired with a tucked in blouse and chunky heels.
2. The Wide Leg Pant
That’s right, skinny is out and flared is back in. While we wouldn’t suggest ditching your skinnies just yet, we’re loving this sleek option from Banana Republic
3. The Jean Skirt
Perhaps of my favourite trends this season, the jean skirt is back. Look for embellishments, distressed versions or frayed hems for a fun take on a classic trend.
4. The Romper
Another silhouette you can expect to see in different variations this spring and summer, we love the casual effect that chambray brings to this style.
5. The Distressed White Jean
If you didn’t invest in a pair of distressed jeans for the quintessential winter white look this past season, consider grabbing a pair of these for spring and summer.
6. The Shortie
Festival season has officially kicked off and bohemian fashion inspiration can be found everywhere as a result. Consider these distressed shorts a wardrobe staple for spring and summer.
